A Dog in 12 Motions’는 유기된 로봇독의 이야기를 12개의 화면과 움직임으로 보여주는 12채널라이브 액션 애니메이션 작업이다. 현대로봇기술로 개발중인 로봇독의 존재를 바탕으로 시작된 작업으로 유기되어 오작동을 일으킨 로봇독이 도시주변을 배회하며 보여지는 이야기로 보여준다. 방황하는 로봇독은 자신이 학습한 12가지의 동물적 혹은 기이한 움직임을 서로 다른 풍경들 안에서 반복적으로 나타낸다. 이 작업을 통해 작가는 자신이 창조한 대상의 움직임을 애니메이션이란 형식을 통해 보여주는데 마치 로봇이 만들어지고 프로그램 되며 반복된 기계적 움직임을 나타내는 시도와 연결시킨다.
A Dog in 12 Motions is a 12-channel live-action animated work, which depicts an abandoned robot dog in 12 different screens. The work is based on the robotic canines that are currently under development with the use of modern robot technology, and it tells the story of an abandoned, malfunctioning robot dog, wandering the city. The wandering robot dog repeatedly demonstrates the 12 animalistic or bizarre movements that it has learned in different urban landscapes. Through this work, the artist depicts the movements of his creations as animation, and he forms a link with the process in which a robot is created, programmed, and enacts mechanical movements.
